Ask Me: Wife, Mom, Designer = GOD
Ask Me: Wife, Mom, Designer = GOD
Produced by GOD. Hosted by me, Braisha Owens Mount.
I'm a luxury denim designer, fashion stylist, muva to a tiny CEO, wife to a KING, and a walking prayer—literally. And this podcast? It’s my open diary, bible study group, and group chat all wrapped into one.
I created this space because people kept asking me, “How are you doing it all?”
And truthfully? I’m not. GOD is.
I’m just showing up—being obedient—and sharing the journey.
Within one year, I became a mom and planned my dream wedding. That’s a lot of shifting in a short amount of time. I didn’t have time to lose myself, but I also didn’t know exactly who I was becoming. What I learned is this: You can carry every title—wife, mom, designer—and still hold on to YOU.
Here on Ask Me, we talk grace, grit, garments, and GOD.
We unpack entrepreneurship, motherhood, marriage, fashion wellness, faith, and identity—not from a perfect place but a real one. I don’t have all the answers, nor will I ever. I’m not the blueprint. But I am a living testimony of what it means to evolve into a greater you and still protect your peace.
If you’re in a season of transition and wondering where YOU went, you’re not alone. Your purpose didn’t disappear. It’s just shifting. And you’re growing into it.
So yeah—don’t ask me how I’m doing it…
Ask GOD.

Let's start off with something tangible. A jacket. It's raw, hand-drawn, distressed. At first glance, it may look unfinished, undone, not ready. But the rawness is the magic. Because before anything is complete, it has to be formed. It reminds me of Clay, right? How God molds us by hand. Slowly, intentionally, all we follow is lead. This jacket already existed. The sketch, the distress, I added to it. The vision was there. What are you seeing? Is it shaping? And that shaping requires obedience, not rushing the process, not forcing the outcome, trusting the hands that are forming you. As I use my hands to draw on the canvas, on the jackets, to create the sketch. That's where I am right now. I'm not blocked, I'm not behind, just form. And choosing obedience throughout it all. You feel me? Listen. This is a podcast for women who want to get dressed and live from a place of wholeness, self-love, and stewardship of their God-given gifts. Okay, welcome to Ask Me Wife Mom Designer Equals God. Listen, I am your host, Bracey Owen's mouth, luxury denim designer, stylist, and wearable arts designer, fashion executive, wife, mama, a woman who believes getting dressed is never just about clothes. It's about identity. You feel me? This is about not having it all. It's about honoring who you are now while becoming who God is shaping you to be. Here, Style Starts on the inside. We talk about faith, motherhood, marriage, creativity, ambition, and showing up fully without you, mask, or performance. No fluff, no filters, just real conversations about grace, grits, garments, and what? God. Because how you get dressed matters. And calling and chaos can definitely coexist. Today's topic is purpose as a design language. In this episode, we talk about creativity, faith, obedience, and what it means to feel blocked but still flowing. How God redirects our plans and how discernment, motherhood, and calling all shapes the way we create. This is a conversation about trusting God as the designer of our lives and learning to move without pressure, comparison, or distraction. There's an assumption that creative people get blocked, right? That creative, that the creativity just stops. But for me, that never really has been the case, to be absolutely honest, right? I don't feel creatively blocked or feel critically blocked, right? Um, there's a difference. I don't feel blocked, I feel maybe stretched or divinely redirected. I feel creativity is always flowing to me. Ideas come consistently, visions come consistently, like literally, right? The discipline, the time and the timing, and the question that always lingers in the back of my mind: will it sell? And on top of all that, the capacity to do all of this. You feel me? Can I create all day? Literally, doing a podcast of 10 episodes, y'all, it has been a struggle today. I have a baby. I get I get over here to record at my parents' house because it's peaceful, no one's here. We get over here about 11 or 11:30, 12, but my baby is hungry, so I gotta feed home. We don't get really started until 2 p.m. Then an hour and a half, I'll go get my mom to work. You feel me? Then come back home. You know, that's what it is: the capacity, the timing. I can create all day. I used to be able to, but my gift isn't meant to just exist. It's meant to sustain me, the fruit of my hands. I want to make a livable, sustainable wage with what God has given me. So sometimes the block isn't creativity, it's fear. Fear of the outcome, fear of what the marketer or the market of fear, whether this will be received. That's true because I'm trying to sell. That's sometimes the focus. But lately, I feel divinely redirected, and that redirection has required me to lean fully into God and entrepreneurship with faith. This is spiritual. Okay, entrepreneurship isn't just a skill, it's a calling. Okay, listen, and a purpose all and purpose always comes with pain. What am I being led to right now is simple but not easy. Just create if it if it produces, it produces. If it doesn't, it doesn't. Because obedience isn't measured by numbers, it'sn't measured by the monetary gifts or what you receive. It's measured by faithfulness. Even if one person sees the work, one, that one person is inspired by the story behind it. That's matters. That's what matters. My obedience helped that person get through. You never know. The stories behind these pieces, how they're planned, how they're rolled out, that's not strategy. That's obedience, y'all. That's divine direction. Because I don't know what I'm doing. God is the ultimate designer, God is the ultimate designer. Do you hear me? We love to plan our lives. We'd love to map out the strategy, timelines, and outcomes. We'd love to do that, right? But scripture always says our lives were written before we were formed in the womb. That means the blueprint already exists, y'all. So instead of trying to figure out everything on our own, I'm learning how to be led, not rushed, not pressured, not comparing my processes to someone else's highlight reel. You feel me? Because we do that. God is the ultimate designer of my life, my creativity, and my calling. And when I let him lead, the work feels aligned, even when it feels uncertain. But let's talk about discernment and distraction. All right? Let's talk about discernment versus distraction. Because not everything looks like an opportunity is assignment. That's so real. Let's say it again. Not everything that looks like an opportunity is an assignment. A distraction doesn't always look bad, y'all. Sometimes distraction looks helpful. Sometimes it looks like prod productivity. Sometimes it looks like, oh, this can maybe be an addition to my brain. Or my life, right? But if it's not aligned with God's will, it will become a distraction. And the only way to know the difference is through discernment, through prayer. Discernment comes from intimacy with God, from prayer, from prayer, from prayer, from prayer, from standing your word. You can't discern distractions if you're not tapped in. You just can't. And sometimes God, and sometimes God will lead you in a direction that looks completely different from what everyone else is doing. But peace will confirm it. If this conversation resonates with you at all, listen. If you're navigating motherhood, marriage, leadership, and still trying to remember who you are, I've created a space for you that's not just that. Listen, inside of my school platform, Kissby Boast of Style, unlocking your style personality through fashion wellness. Listen, we focus on fashion wellness learning how to get dressed and show up from a place of self-love, purpose, and faith. It's a place for women who believe in God is the sustainer of all, even in everyday moments. So we craving community, clarity, and alignment. I love to welcome you there. You can find a link in the show notes, okay? Listen. And we're back. Staying faithful to the calling. Staying faithful to the calling is hard, especially when everyone around you, your friends, your family who love you are telling you what you should do. Lord Jesus. Trying to find the right way, right? Suddenly you're overwhelmed. I do that. Analysis, paralysis. That's what happens to me often. I consume so much information that I freeze. I do nothing. Now I move differently. I take the meat and spit out the bones. Literally. I pray over what I consume and ask the Lord, hey, listen, Jesus, Lord, what do you want me to take from this? And what do you want me to leave? I'm not here to prove anything to anybody. Listen, I'm just not, I am not in that. You feel me? I'm just here to be obedient. What's beneficial to me stays. What's not, it goes. Simple as that. And I move without guilt. This episode is about you staying true to the calling. If it resonated with you, please share this with somebody who needs that reminder. In the comment section, please tell me what does staying true to the calling? God is your designer. What does it mean to you? And if you want a deeper understanding of confidence and style, you know where to find me. Listen, until next time. Get dressed with intention, move with confidence, and don't forget who you're becoming. Don't ask me how I'm doing this. Listen. Ask God.
